Gaining control of Stalingrad would prove most challenging for the Germans, even with the formidable Tiger 1 among their arsenal of nasty.
A Red Army tanker in the distance has not heeded the warning, Don't Poke the Bear, as the Tiger turns it turret in the direction of the T-34.

Fun fact; the Tiger I was first used on the Eastern Front near Leningrad in the Fall of 1942, then the 503rd Panzer Battalion was deployed in the autumn of 1942, but arrived too late to participate in the attempt to relieve Stalingrad.

It was subsequently engaged in heavy defensive fighting in January and February 1943 on the Russian front.
