Just saw that author Toni Morrison has just passed away. The only book I read from her authorship was The Bluest Eye. It was apart of lit class I was taking at UT Austin. That book was probably the most visceral books I have ever read. Likewise, the descriptions of the characters like "Soaphead Church" are just riveting.
May she rest in peace.
