Hello!
I am new to this whole forum thing , but really need help from someone who knows what they are talking about!
So, about 6 months ago my beloved grandfather passed, he left behind a large collection of britains toy soldiers which i have been put in charge of sorting through. and so i have spent hours identifying toy soldiers and putting them back in the original boxes and writing down each one etc....
NOW WHAT??
can anyone suggest a good place to advertise them for sale?
i am keeping one or two sets but am not really going to be a collector and would rather they went to people who would love them as much as grandad did, i have had one or two people offering to take them off my hands in bulk for what seemed like a very low price and have decided i would rather move them on myself than have a complete stranger make money from my grandfathers passing!
there are around 150 sets all together, some big, some small, some very old and some rather new looking. most are britains but one or two look french???
and listing them all individually on ebay may be my only hope unless anyone has any better ideas???
thanks for looking :)

I think prior to determining the best place to sell them will be to figure out exactly what you have.

Some 'old' toy soldiers come from the early 1900's (or even late 1800's) and can be very valuable (depending on the rarity of the set). Other 'old' sets come from the 70's and 80's...and aren't as valuable. Then there's the 'new' figures (from the 90's to present) which could appeal to more recent collectors.

If you have a very vintage and valuable collection, I suggest tracking down someone like Ray Haradin at http://www.oldtoysoldierauctions.com/.

If you have a more recent collection, we here at Treefrog Treasures have a consignment service (with fees that are competitive with eBay) at www.treefrogtreasures.com/consignment.htm.

eBay is always an option too.

If you are having a hard time identifying sets, people on this forum are very helpful (and often take it as a challenge to figure it out!).
