Hi..today i unfortunately let drop my Jacobite Flag Bearer and ...no great damage!!!They are indeed sturdy pieces in appearance but the figure dropped from 3 shelves on the ground and experienced only minor chips and a little bending of the sword scabbard..i hate the chips..but with some color on hand i tried to remedy..mmm the signs remained but..with the jump he did the jacobite now could have been extinct..have you experienced something similar? With the Flagbearer? It's my (or one of my) best figure so i care much for it!

Had a similar problem when my cat went walk-about on my POA display. Cat knocked two French marching infantry off cabinet top some 5 ft. from carpet. Resulting damage were bent rifles and bayonets needing paint touch-up. Nothing broke, just bent. A 5 ft. fall would have destroyed something like my Britains or Aeroart figures but the robust construction of the JJD figures resulted in nothing more than some paint loss. -- lancer

Thanks Lancer..it's reassuring..indeed i placed th JJ in the front line of my cabinet (even if they account for the 5% of my collection), it's because the beauty of the Flagbearer that tends to be taken in hand (by me ) more often than the other figures so it' s more prone to damage...

I understand what you mean. My Hielanders are right up front too. Best looking figures I own. The new Barrell's infantry really look good with the Jacobites as well. I am looking forward to many future additions with a large selection of flag bearers for both sides. Great color and action. So many possibilities for this series. -- lancer

I have the JJ Snow Shoe series and I have commented to friends that they do seem sturdier than my Frontline and K&C.

Example: Set SF-01 French Marines Skirmishing,

The French soldier stuffing the ramrod down the barrel of the rifle.

The ramrod, it's a strong piece of metal for being so delicate.

JJ's metal seems less pliant than my other collections.

Don't get me wrong, I love K&C and Frontline, I have a lot of each.

It just seems like nothing bends on the Jenkins.

It seems like a purer, stronger metal.

Even the weight of the figures seems heavier.

I agree with the issue of toughness, this is just my opinion, I don't feel like argueing about it.

I examinated the Flag Bearer and under the 3 chips and a deep coat of paint(unfortunately the point of the flagstaff was a little bended and the damaged paint there give the sensation it's broken) there was a white paint..to "retouch" these chips i tried to put more paint than usual , to fill the "scars" ,i think that the paint is special too..by the way i used a pen to apply the colour, and the colours (i think those used by JJ they are vallejo, the consistence is typical of those colours) are not really appropriate but in the end i've done a good work..and these after a fall of 3 shelves..:)!
