Dear fellow collectors,
I have read some posts about TOY ARMY WORKSHOP having closed down, but have they really? I love their wonderful WWI glossy sets... On the new and excellent Treefrog resources section, manufacturers, there´s a link to this company ( http://www.taw.co.uk/ ) which seems to be working OK. The link to the store is not working though. Is there any chance that this company is still doing business?

I collected their stuff for many years, superb WW1 figures. But yes they closed down, sent me a letter about it when it happened.A real, real shame.Wonderful product.

Welcome aboard Stephen. I always thought they made some of the best metal vehicles and artillery pieces out there. This is bad news for my bank account!

Have always enjoyed both Graham Pettit's figures and vehicles. Is he still in the equation? One suggesion . . . buy the vehicles unpainted if you can as the factory produced ones have a heavy layer of paint. Getting them this way also permits adding accoutrements such.

Hi All,

As an artillery fan myself ,I also enjoyed very much TAW and Graham´s WW1 sets.
The bad news is that he went out of business for good....an attempt was done to revive his line of miniatures by a chap in the UK, but before he could go very far, Graham sold all his molds to some Austrialian investors who took stock of them and sent them down under.
I was told that they plan to market them again in the future, so my best guess is to keep an eye on on-line/internet retailers from Australia....
If you know of sets floating in the market let me know I could be interested. If I come across any I will also advise.
Regards,
Fleury

I enjoy my TAW sets and was disappointed when it quit sales. TAW and 4 Mil models went down about the same time. 2 losses to all of us. If they start producing down under I may be able to finally get my RR armored car.

I got lucky on Ebay and bought one cheaply, because the seller did not know that Pettit on the undercarraige meant TAW and did not list it, as such..Michael

Hi 4th Hussar,

I second you on that wish. Let us keep an eye out there for the new owners of the TAW molds for they are bound to surface sometime.
If I hear something, I will advise and like wise.
In the meantime, I am attaching to the artillery forum an article I worte recently discussing about this and other aspects that are affecting the collectors comunity.

TAW was good, I have only one set by them. Tommy Atkins is still around and makes some god WWI stuff. The Trophy WWI stuff was my favorite though. Sadly they are also out of business.

Toy Army Workshop has been purchased by Fr. Greg Simon of 38 Lacrington St., Goolwa Beach, South Australia 5214, Australia. It will be put back into production during the next few months. Trophy is now available through Maison Militaire who purchased the range.
