I recently returned from holiday to find a very unconvincing imposter of a magazine on my doorstep! Issue 11 of Toy Soldier Collector.

I'm very disappointed at the dumbed-down standard of the new magazine. I can live with the odd glitch but this issue contains so many glitches that it makes reading the magazine very difficult. Basic errors of language and fact are all over the place. It looks as if at the proofing stage nobody could be bothered to check it. What most concerns me is that the publisher says he has the “know how” to take the magazine to the next level. But I’d settle for Guideline Publications finding the know-how to get the magazine back to the excellent level it was at before they made such a mess of it.

I agree although I've just noticed that at least they have posted an apology for the state of issue 11 on their website have a look at: http://www.toysoldiercollector.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=1;action=display;num=1155797270 it's still not good enough that the errors were there but I suppose at least they're addmiting to them and let's just hope issue 12 is more like we have come to know and expect!

An apology's is all well and good however the proof of the pudding as they say...

I'm due to renew after issue 13 so as far as I'm concerned the new team have two issues to get the mag back to the level I had gotten used to. So long as it's get back to that level, or better, then I'm happy and will renew as when the publication is on form it's the best of the bunch in my opinion.

I agree the apology on the website is welcome & better than nothing but they’ve got much bigger problems than glitches. The paper quality has been downgraded & it looks and reads like a Amateur Night imitation of what it was. Unconsciously funny too as the publisher says the magazine doesn’t need fixing as it isn’t broken but all around him is glaring evidence that he’s broken it beyond repair!
