Greetings!

My late father had an extensive collection of toy soldiers that my mother and I are now trying to sort out what to do with. I'm active on several other collecting forums (mostly watches and fountain pens - same screen name, feel free to look me up on Watchuseek or SCWF), so thought that a community of enthusiasts such as this might be able to offer some thoughts. Two pics below show the extent of the collection - half of which are boxed up in their original boxes (or as complete sets where we could identify them as such, despite the original boxes having been discarded), and the other half are still in the display cabinet in which they've resided for years (if not decades).

The soldiers are in the greater Seattle area. Do any of you know of, or can you recommend, a reputable collector/consigner or other resources in the greater Seattle area to help us sell these to someone who can continue to appreciate them as he did? I'm not sure we're up to the task of selling each individually online, so any help you can offer would be fantastic.

Thanks much!

Donate it to some local non-profit group. Let them use eBay for a fund raiser,
do the work with volunteers.

Then take it off your taxes. A lot less hassle, and the sole goal is still the same.

There was a television program recently on FOX Business called "St
range Inheritance"[reruns may still be on]. Widow donated her husbands to two museums for a tax write off.
Selling to a dealer didn't get her anywhere near the amount that a tax write off did.

Take a look:

Hi, I live in Seattle and would be interested to have a look at your collection. Please PM me to check if we can connect.

Its a nice collection of various glossy figures. My advice would be to contact Julie at Tree Frog and see about consigning them for sale.

What about our friends here at Treefrog Treasures?

They would still have to pack them and ship to Minnesota. And wait for them to be sold.
Possibly years except for a few cherry picked ones. When you have an estate to settle that might
not be an option.

I believe FedEx would sell them on eBay for you, but they'd take a tidy profit from it.

All - Thanks for the many great suggestions - I've sent or responded to all PMs, too. One of our biggest challenges is determining the value for these sets. I do like that the Ebay auction format essentially sets market value by nature of being an auction, but with over a hundred sets, I'm not sure we have the time to do this (and my Mom wants them gone). Consigning through TreeFrog is a great suggestion - we'll look into this one!
