Toy Soldier Horror Stories ! (1 Viewer)

My biggest disaster involves my wife feeling spiteful about my having toy soldiers in the bedroom of our co-op apartment when we were first married. She "accidentally" knocked a resin and metal K&C Bren Gun Carrier off a shelf with a towel she threw and "missed the hamper". She's lucky she was topless at the time and distracted me or she would have been in big trouble. Fortunately, Gordon Nielson from K&C effectuated repairs when he came to the Symposium, so there is only a tiny defect, and I had two other Bren Gun Carriers, or I would have been really pissed.

Hmmmmmm..... So many places I could go with this. However maybe this had an ending with familial results:D:D:D

Re: Toy Soldier Stories !

One of my ex wives and I happened to be at a function, she made a remark about " toy soldiers", I responded with ," they like me did get the house,," Exs come and go,,the collection lives on.

Just having a change about and one of my 24th foot dove 6ft from the Witt hospital and snapped the bayonet clean off :mad::mad: Luckily though that was the only damage so it won't look to far out of place in the dio and as it is part of a 3 piece set I am not going to go and buy it again just because of the bayonet.

I had my fare share of soldiers falling over and dropping. But I try to be very careful with them when moving them around. :)

I had a friend over who spent a good deal of time handling various weapons. When he left I began cleaning them and putting them away. I did not notice that he had flipped the safety off an H&K SB89 which discharged as I handled it. The 9mm round (only one luckily) hit a group of Britians figures then glanced off and got stuck in the shelf above them!

Wife quickly grabbed insurance policies and called travel agent......until I
emerged intact, with ears ringing!

Total casualties were light about a 1/2 dozen with only a couple a total loss. Bullet now resides on desk as a reminder.
That is sure hard to top. I know it happens but I have always wondered how you could accidently discharge a weapon that you were showing or cleaning. That does take a round in the chamber, which is the first and last thing I check to clear in both cases. Anyway glad you were so lucky, the Britains figures were likely the best target under the circumstances.
