Toy Soldier Magazines - Comments (1 Viewer)

I have seen occasional comments about some toy soldier periodicals, but I know little to nothing about them. Can some of my comrades who get regular subscriptions tell me about the quality of these magazines and if they have any recommendations for periodicals to subscribe to?

Michael: For the third time I will try to answer- things keep diaappearing tonight. Two magazines I get are Toy-Soldier& Model Figure published monthly with an office in Minn. and Toy Soldier Collector published bi-monthly. I find both magazines interesting. Color pictures and articles about manufacturers and collectors. Mark Avery is the editor of Toy Soldier Collector and former editor of TS&MF magazine. Both magazines will send replacements if issue does not arrive and both are printed in England. I recomend them both. John

Dear Michael,
I also subscribe to both magazines. Biggest difference is that Toy Soldier Collector ("TSC") is currently bimonthly while Toy Soldier & Model Figure (TSMF") is monthly. On a per issue basis, TSMF costs less. While TSC focuses exclusively on toy soldiers, TSMF has a section on 1/6 (G.I. Joe size) figures. If you can only afford one, I would probably get TSMF only because it comes more frequently.

I have subscribed to both magazines since their respective issues number 1. It would be hard to pick one over the other. Any serious toy soldier collector should subscribe to at least one of them if for no other reason than to help support our hobby.
