toysoldiers paris show (1 Viewer)

Thats a bummer. I'm really looking forward to pictures of those WW1 French.

WW1 French, when, where, what do you mean? I am in on those, vive la France!

Paulo

I believe Normandy1944 mentioned something about WW1 French that Andy had on display or mentioned when he was in Paris reently.
I sent Normandy a PM trying to get more info, but he is sworn to secrecy about it!
What is WW1 without the French in their adrian helmets?

It is not clear to me how you can be sworn to secrecy about something that was on public display or revealed in a public conversation? That suggests they were not shown or publicly mentioned.

It's called a leak. Meaning that the person sworn to secrecy also includes not telling the world you were told something about K&C WW1 French figures in secret. Of course, when Andy says "this is just for the people here today" that's the leak. IMO, face-to-face, Andy is not good at keeping secrets by way of dropping obvious hints, let alone giving advance notice to "just you people".

He is obviously having way too much fun. :)

Absolutely, you just have to differentiate between what he tells you in private and what he tells the public gathering;):D

Good call, but personally for starters I'd prefer 1914 French, infantry in red trousers and cavalry in pre-horizon blue uniforms to add spectacle against the field gray uniforms of the Imperial German Army.

Perhaps, K&C may release the early stuff like they did with the British and Germans before moving to tin helmets and mud.

I would also like to see the early war French uniforms, infantry, cavalry, and the artillery with it's 75mm gun. Britains did a fine job with their French releases but haven't done the 75mm gun. Come on, someone do the 75 with early war gunners, please. -- lancer

You took the words ou of my mouth!;) Just love those early colorful French uniforms. And I bet the recent ACW Union soldiers will be used to some extent to produce the early French WWI;).

A secret shared with two can be a secret. A secret shared with three or more is a press release, not a leak. There is no reasonable expectation of confidential treatment under such circumstances.

Someone delete those post about early war French, I want the dirty blue long coated, trench fighting, "Paths of Glory" French!

Wouldn't mind seeing the Poilu in horizon bleu either. No reason both can't be done. I would also like to see the Russian brigades that fought on the Westfront with the French Army represented. Still need the French artillery. -- lancer

Definitely Battle of the Frontiers first for me, with Zouve and Turcos regiments supporting Chassuers a pied light infantry, even better go for some Belgians and dog carted machine guns. Leave the Kirk Douglas stuck in the mud stuff for now - lets have some colour! ;)

Guys I've never said that french WWI troops are coming.

I've said on the forum that we all have to have some patience! There is something very nice for the WWI coming

And thank you Rob for your Wise words:

Absolutely, you just have to differentiate between what he tells you in private and what he tells the public gathering

Harrie:)

That is like being told santa doesn't exist!

You didnt say WW1 French troops were coming Normandy, but in another thread Hoogri said Andy premiered them at the Paris show. I wasnt there so I dont know what was shown, and Im not trying to call anyone out, I just wanted to clarify the situation. Anyway, heres hoping that there ARE WW1 French (in either uniform) on the horizon.

Me and my big mouth.
I'm sorry gentlemen, but I tell little too early
about two weeks, we know what comes from WW I

richard.

I have heard that Andy puts out info at every show. I don't seriously believe he thinks it will stay secret for long and it creates some excitement and anticipation. It's also a good tactic to get buyers to wait for the new stuff until after Christmas before spending on something else.

I am too cynical :eek::D
