I was thinking.....Nowadays, technology can create microchips, tablets, sophisticated toys with very sophisticated devices.....But toysoldiers are still more or less made like 200 years ago, especially in the painting proceedings: hand made.

I am amazed that the industry can' t create cheap toysoldiers mounted and painted with high quality details with machines, and not so delicate and fragile as they are today!{sm2}
 
Toy soldiers have never been a mass produced item, which is basically what you are talking about: creating machinery to make them. However, the machinery/tooling is expensive and will only pay for itself if you mass produce an item. The toy soldier market is not big enough to justify that kind of cost.
