Transportation Corps POW Escort Guards (1 Viewer)

I was doing some research and came across the following American unit from WWII:

9222nd Technical Service Unit, Transportation Corps, Prisoner of War Escort Guard, Detatchment #2

Every other referrence I have found to POW Escort Guards states that they were comprised of Military Police. I was not aware that the TC had POW EG units. Would anybody happen to know more about this topic? Or where I might find more specific information about this particular unit's service in the war?
