For some reason your site is suddenly not coming up for me (TSTV).
Is it just me?
Ray

I only got the first song

Chattanooga Choo Choo (or is the Cat that chewed your new shoes :D)

I know the next song but the name escapes me.

Thanks for posting the video Tony can you shed any light on the Elephant with the Howdah. It certainly does look nice.

Hi Brit

You got number one right. By the one and only Glenn Miller. My late Grand father was a big band and jazz pianist (in the evenings whilst being a shipwright during the day) and when based in Singapore had the great pleasure of playing with him at the British Navel Club. We did have an old 'cine' film of it but over the years it has been lost.

Number two i will let a couple of guys have a guess and put you out of your misery tomorrow.

re the elephant you need to ask Shannon as she took the pics!!

Shannon any idea?

Tony

Great job Tony on the TV site.
Isn,t the second song American Patrol?
It was the theme song of one of my favorite movies, The Last Detail.

Tony,
As is the norm, very well done. I must say you definately have a talent for your video compositions. ;)

The elephant is from K&C's main office displays. It's from the old Silk Road collection (SR001):

Thanks to Bill Sager's website for the picture.

I think the second tune is also by Glenn Miller or someone of that type, typical of what passed for big band music at that time (although nowhere in the same league as Duke Ellington or Count Basie), which, incidentally, after WW II was on its way out as the nation's taste for big band faded, plus it was too expensive to keep bands of that size together. In addition, the early to mid 40s saw a transition from big band to bop, which is what people were becoming more interested in.

Brad

Check you out you Music dude!!!:D

Glen Miller is the second one but the tune!!!???

Tony

Gary
