Treefrog name!!! (1 Viewer)

OK Ok How did the name Treefrog Treasures get associated with our hobby?
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, lived a magical frog that guarded a treasure trove of toy soldiers, hidden in the trunk of a centuries old oak tree...

Lancer, how did you know? {eek3} Actually the story is a lot less exciting than that (might need to hire you for the marketing department though :wink2:).
Treefrog Treasures originally sold a wide variety of antiques, collectibles, vintage toys and children's books before settling down to the high-end Precision series scale model antique tractor replicas by Ertl in the late 1990's. The company that owned Ertl at the time just happened to also own a toy soldier company by the name of W. Britain (which neither I nor anyone I knew had never heard of) and would often include catalogs of said company in with our Precision series catalogs.
Minnesota is not exactly a hotbed for military miniatures so until I received these Britains catalogs I had no idea anyone still produced or collected toy soldiers. What I was missing!
In the early 2000's I began operating two websites, one for the scale model tractors and one for toy soldiers. In 2003 I was won over by toy soldiers completely, sold the Precison business and have happily resided in this fine hobby ever since, retaining the original business name of Treefrog Treasures throughout. It doesn't have the usual military words in the title that one would expect, but I think that makes people remember it and helps it stand out so Treefrog Treasures it has remained.
Thanks for asking!
