The local Rochester Post-Bulletin has taken an interest in toy soldiers and Treefrog Treasures. I don't know how long they will leave the article on their website but here is a link to it:

Read Treefrog article here.

Please note: Contrary to what the article says the entire building is 6,000 square feet, not just the showroom!:p
Thanks for your interest and support!

Interesting article Shannon.
Looking forward to you making news in "The Times of London". :)

The forum's own sceic2 is also interviewed for the article.

The print article also includes examples of glossy figures but for some reason they didn't include all the pictures for the online version.

Glad the business is finally becoming more main stream. Maybe this will help Toy Soldier Collecting change into the fast lane.

Great Article - now time for those TV Commericials !!

By the way - when do plan to start running them?

I always thought Treefrog was some monolithic concrete structures that ate other toy soldier store for breakfast.

Considering Tims Shop is so cluttered and considering you work out of a basement how cluttered is the Treefrog basement.

It's not really so much a basement as the entire lower level of a split. We purchased the house specifically with housing the entire business in mind. But it grew. So we added some rental space. And it grew some more. So we built a heated storage unit on the property. And still it grew. And so it grows. So rather than leasing a warehouse or storefront we decided to design and build our own.
It's always amusing to give a first-time visitor a tour of the "house." I explain that "my toy soldier business is downstairs" but it never prepares them for the row after row of shelving units piled past the unfinished rafters with toy soldiers, the four workstations and the photography studio.
I will try and post a few photos in a bit to try and give you a feel for the look of the place.

Shannon,

You, Pete and your staff have done a fantastic job, and like the Nevilles, have really done a fantastic job expanding the hobby. Its a nice article, and well deserved. Thank you and may your future get brighter and brighter, as you deserve!

Hi Shannon,

i just read the article about you and Treefrog Tresures and what a nice article it is! You are to be complimented for all your fine work and for being a friend to toy soldier collectors everywhere.

I look forward to seeing the pictures of your basement. I will enjoy seeing the storehouse from which all the treasures come to us. :)

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

The photos will have to wait until Pete retrieves the camera cord from his office tomorrow. If he doesn't have time to stop by with it I'll just take some new pictures with my son's camera tomorrow.
Regards,

Great article Shannon, you and Pete are doing a fantastic job, the more Toy Soldier shops, the bigger the Hobby will get. Great Job, Mike:)
