THANKSGIVING TRIVIA---character actor Bill Erwin played an airline passenger in two John Hughes holiday movies. In PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES, Erwin played the airline passenger who sat next to Neal Page (Steve Martin) and Del Griffith (John Candy). In HOME ALONE, Erwin played Ed, the husband of the woman who agrees to sell her airline ticket to Kevin's mother.

That's Billie Bird alongside Erwin in "Home Alone". She was also Grandma Dorothy in "Sixteen Candles", which is probably the role most people today would remember.

"I have a wonderful idea! Dong-would you like to take Samantha to the dance?"

I remember Erwin best as "Sid" in the "Seinfeld" episode, "The Old Man". "Say-before you go, would you mind changing my adult diaper? Ah, hahahahahahaha!"

Prost!
