Hi Guys,
One of the many great things I enjoy best about collecting (and making) toy soldiers is mixing and matching figures from different historical periods to make a colourful display.
Here’s one such example…
As most history buffs know the ‘TROOPING THE COLOUR’ parade is held each year on the Sovereign’s Official Birthday, usually in June.
For many years Queen Elizabeth II took part in uniform and on horseback riding her favourite horse ‘BURMESE’, a gift from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to the monarch.
Here last mounted ‘Trooping’ was in 1986. Today she normally takes part in a horse-drawn carriage accompanied by other members of the Royal Family notably, the Prince of Wales, Honorary Colonel of the Welsh Guards and Prince William, Honorary Colonel of The Irish Guards.
We’ve stretched history and reality to present all three on horseback in this particular display.
Also mounted is the Parade Commander, a Colonel of the Coldstream Guards.
On parade are officers and men, also of The Coldstream Guards in various poses. And a couple of upcoming guardsmen figures to add-on when they are released in the first quarter of 2021.
Much as I love ‘action-poses’ there’s something about a parade scene that still fascinates me.
All the best and… Atten-Shun!
Andy
