Gentle Friends,

I have recently heard a rumor to the effect that Trophy Military Miniatures of Wales is for sale. Can anyone confirm or refute this rumor?

In my opinion, Trophy has made a significant impact on the toy soldier community over a period of years. If there is truth to the rumor, then it will be interesting to see what becomes of this proud enterprise. If, on the other hand, the rumor is false, then we need to clarify that fact with our interested collector friends.

Warm regards,

Pat

Dave,

Thanks for checking. I will be interested in what you learn.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

I had heard Trophy was practically out of business. This would indeed be tragic, as Trophy, before K&C even existed, was making interesting high quality toy soldiers and accessories in action poses. As the book Larry, Hans and I are writing on K&C indicates, many of the early K&C sets were shall we say "heavily influenced" or "inspired" by Trophy. I hope that Trophy survives and thrives.

Louis,

Hi Guys,

I contacted a few people over in the UK that would be in position to have heard this and they are saying that they have not heard anything like this. The Company has a website that states its under construction and nothing else and I also chacked the website of Trophy of Texas and he has nothing mentioned other than he has a really large collection he is trying to sell You may want to check it out). His last update was on 8 July so if there is anything to this rumor its not in general circulation yet. I will ask a few other folks I know over there but right now I am hopeful its just a rumor.

Hi guys,

I just heard from Richard Walker that Trophy was just sold to Ken Jackson of Maison Militaire of the UK. If you get the Standard from the Britians Collectors Club they have an article featuring him in a small Q&A from volumn 2 number 10 May 2006. Web address is www.maisonmilitaire.com

So it would appear they are mearly changing owners and should continue in business for a while.

Dave,
Thanks for tracking down the answer. Enquiring minds appreciated it!

Hi ,
well if its true TROPHYs been sold to Ken it should be in safe hands ,outside London ,Kens home and then his excellent shop,is where i usually got my figures from.If ken has the range lets hope he re-releases some of the older Trophy range ,or updates the molds ,ive got some gaps in my Boxer Rebellion range ,and some of these could do with an update! Also they could do with a decent website, the last catalogue i had was 1998s and a 2000 update from ken. Also will it become TROPHY of Yorkshire or England and drop the Wales bit.;)
If its true ,all the best ken .:)
Another question ,whats happening to IMERIALS moulds, have they been scrapped or sold on maybe to REGAL ? Hope somebodys taken them on.
