I am sworn to secrecy on what the set will be other than it is WW2. However I just got an email from a friend who has received an advanced set, and he states that it is the best set ever.
I pre ordered mine and Nick (TSSD) said it should be shipping by Monday.
I don,t think he wants me to get it before he previews it at the West Coast Show.
Also learned that Set #6 will be Civil War, but the great news is #7 & #8 will both be WW2. I can only guess what they will be, but Nick did state at OTSN that he had some request for German paras, that would be on the top of my wish list.

From what I hear they are russains. When can you let the cat out of the bag? And do you know what the cival war figures will be? Some zouaves would be nice.

WW2 Russian infantry would be a welcome release.I have 6 Britians T34's and no infantry except for some unpainted Airfix I picked up at OTSN. Not enough poses to get excited about painting.

I spoke with Nick at TSSD today and he said he will be posting what the set is on his site this coming Tuesday before he leaves for the West Coaster.

I ordered 48 sets from him to get here in time for the Schutzen Park show on the 12th; sorry, I am sworn to secrecy on this one, but you'll all know by Tuesday...................

Hey Guys,

The rumors are true. Nick has come out with the "Road to Stalingrad" Playset.

Check it out:

Nick will have plenty of playsets at the West Coaster this weekend.

O.K., so you’ve read about the new Ruskies. Like me, you thought that was it, right? NOBODY was expecting anything else on dat train. Well, folks, we’ve been ambushed. TSSD AND Barzso Toys worked together in secrecy to produce an entire playset to accompany TSSD’s new figures.

STALINGRAD.

I’ve only seen pics of this baby, but the pics look great. New Ruskie figures. Winter Germans in field grey and camo white. A Russian Village with a Russian Orthodox church, a barn, a farm house, and a ruined building (the church knocks my socks off). A graveyard. A Russian Mortar. A German Nebelwerfer. And accessories like a donkey cart and weapons. WOW. Blows me away. Ron left out armadillos this time, however.

What I particularly love about this project is the willingness of two major manufacturers to work together to produce a product like this playset. What a wonderful affirmation of fraternity. Ron, Deanna, and Nick sound like they had great fun together creating their opus. Very promising for the future. This road’s gotta lead to more toy soldiers and more imagination! Thanks, guys. Now I have to believe there will eventually be more Ruskie poses. Nick hints they will even consider more add on sets.

I’ll try and post photos, but not sure I know how yet.

Dick, the playset has been the best kept secret in the history of plastic toy soldier collecting!
I,ll bet RC is having a fit!
