Right before I left for work this afternoon, the UPS man came and left a box from Nick and Deanna at TSSD. The new "winter" GIs are out in the "Fire Support" set! Only had time for a quick assessment before leaving, but they look quite nice. At least as good as the previous set of ETO GIs, certainly a "must have" if you are into WW2 plastics. I will have more time for a better look tommorrow and post more on the weapons, etc.

One of the earlier Tssd Guys compared to a new one. With some paint should fit right in.

The Long Coat Germans And the Long Coat US . I want more long coats on both sides. I love them.

This is the BMC compared to TSSD It works for me. And the support weapons are great. Having a problem putting mortar together the hole doesnt seem to fit peg but just a little customising. I also wish there would have been two mortarmen instead of one. Overall I think they are great.
Charlie:)

Will be interested in others thoughts on these.
Have Fun

Thanks for the pics Charlie, those are a must get. Already thinking converts. Mike

Got mine yesterday, great new figures.
I love what TSSD is doing by producing their own figures, but I have one very small complaint. It seems with every set there is one figure that if you buy multiples it just doesn,t lend itself to it. Take for example this set, The figure running with a bandage on his head, or with the Russian set, the female sniper, or the Civil War set the figure with his arm in a sling.
I guess what it will cause me to do is attempt to swap a few heads,
Nick and Deanna if you happen to read this don,t take this as a knock, as I will continue to buy your sets and am looking forward to your next, Civil War?
Also got the Italeri WW2 Russians, they are a little small, but look to be ok with TSSD,s Russians.

I'll be picking up a set as soon as they hit the shores here in the UK. They look to compliment the existing GIs nicely. It's also good to hear that TSSD are thinking of converters as they are offering 'bits' of their sets seperately, like the .30 cal operator on it's own with arms seperate, + the equipment available seperately and so on.

Even back in the days of Marx and timmee there was always a figure or two that didnt fit with multiples as you said such as the guy with rifle overhead or the Leader with pistol. I am still glad that these poses are included for setting up dioramas etc. We need more camp poses for instance. My brother likes to put platoons together and the guy getting shot or the guy running with bandage are useless poses in his mind. In my little Dioramas they are priceless. I have managed to make use of most of the multiples in one way or other. Some of them I cut the base off and use them for battle field casuallties. Some I have converted into artillerey gunners etc. I love them all.

I have already started cutting up a couple for forum member GK5717. The guy with bandaged head looks a LOT better with a Conte helmeted head instead. The machinegunner will look fine as a tank riding infantryman, plus a few other poses I have in mind. As work progresses I will post a few photos,

The good news is that the new guys can take parts from the Conte GIs and older TSSD GIs so the conversion possibilities are really opened up!

The bandage head would look good on the wounded Marine. I have not ordered any yet, they are a must have. Can't wait to see your converts binder, love your last ones. Mike:)
