I see from the Treefrog website there are two new legions being released by T Gunn
1st Menervia Legion
6th Victrix Legion

1st Menervia Legion - Chattian wars [AD83], Dacian wars, served in the East for Marcus Aurelius, fought for Septimus Severus in civil war and was destroyed fighting the Visigoths

6th Victrix Legion - Recruits from Italy and Spain - put down the Civilis Revolt [AD69-70], was involved in the Dacian invasion [AD101–102, AD105–106], went to UK around 122AD [after the disappearance of the 9th Legion] and was the last to leave Britain in 401AD as the last ditch defence against the Visigoths.

Civilis Revolt - great fiction series [3 books] from Antony Riches

Interesting choices, with 2 new legions that served all over the empire and will allow people to make dioramas from across the legion. I think I will be looking at the new 6th Legion, currently collect 9th Legion and as the 6th was ordered to Britain after the disappearance of the 9th Legion in AD122 then it seems fitting, but I hope also it does not mean the disappearance of the 9th Legion from Thomas Gunn!

These are 2 great new series, but which Legion would you like to see? For me it would be 2nd Augusta, 14th Gemina, 20th Valeria, plus some Batavians. I am interested in the Romans in Britain, hence my choice. But also a new series on the Teutoberg Forest battles, with the 3 legions represented and some German warriors.

X Fretensis at the siege of Jerusalem......along with some Jewish rebels of course.

I quite like the Minerva shield, but I'm too far in with the Red shield Legionaries to start collecting them too.
Is TG going to go back to the start and re-release figures. with the new shield design ?
I can see anyone starting out fresh may well want previous poses.

I agree. I'm content with the 30th, 9th and the original Minerva design. I won't be collecting any of the 2 new legions either. Like you I have focused to much on the other legions to change now.

I have gone for both new shield designs. I love variety in my collection. I would love shelves full of an extensive Roman army with as many different legions represented as possible. Would like to see 2nd Augusta with its links to my old city of Exeter.

I'm collecting all 5 as I'm hooked on what TG does, in my opinion they are just fantastic!!!!!!!
