In the middle of watching 'The Malta Story' from 1953. Stars Jack Hawkins and Alec Guinness. Haven't seen this since I was a kid. Best thing about it is the scads of actual Spitfires used in the filming. The Spits are late mk./war versions but, still, a real Spitfire is worth watching. Some actual newsreel footage of tropical Spits woven in. Up next is 'The Battle of El Alamein' from 1968, another I haven't seen in decades. This one stars Frederick Stafford and Robert Hossein. Don't remember much about this one and it will be interesting to see it again. -- Al

The Alamein film isn't what I thought it was. It is some sort of horrible Italian take on the battle. Too awful to watch. -- Al
