So guys, with the unveiling yesterday of K&C's superb Typhoon, who is getting this Beauty?

I'll start.

ME!!:wink2:

Don't you want to see where the cost will roll out at? More people will probably respond once the price point gets announced- I would assume.

I'm in Rob + Mickey mouse fuel truck & think K&C have done well spreading it out over a copy of months dispatches , been thinking today about how I'm going to do a diorama for it - Cab rank ground support for Operation Market garden {sm4}

Ageed. Waiting on price for final decision. At $200 or so I'm in, too much more, say $225+, I'm out. -- Al

Well there are times Chris, and this will be one of them I imagine , that purchases around the time this is released are suspended so I can get it. I have very much looked forward to this and it will be my major purchase this year, so although I don't have endless cash this is a case of ' must have' , I know this phrase gets used a lot, but for me this release really is.( plus I have some Birthday money left:wink2:)

Same as Rob , only collecting K&C planes & Market Garden & Hawker Typhoon is a must have

Perfectly understandable- would hate to come clean with how many of those Figarti Abrams I have. :redface2::redface2: Have you considered buying more than 1?? Guess we'll have to see where the price point shakes out. Imagine a squadron of those puppies???? {sm2}

Congratulations on adding this beaut to your already impressive collection. I am sure it will hold a position of immense pride for you for many years to come.

Cheers

Thanks Chris, I think you have really hit on something there. With the RAF range there is indeed a lot of pride and no little emotion in my collecting. Two would be great but I'm afraid the dosh won't stretch that far:redface2:

All the best

Rob

But what planes would they be flying in 1969 is the question ?& think you got the wrong war , I think I'm right that the RAAF were in Korean War ^&grin

I think that I have made it quite clear posting on other threads that I am in...in fact this has been the push to get m started in he RAF range.

And I am inclined to agree with Rob, this one is a must, even if it is a little more than previous planes, and I know with ground crew it is a big investment overall...maybe if I say it is for the next 3 Christmases!

It will be worth it :wink2:

skip this model.
I make an airfield at 1940.
but I must say that this is one of the most beautiful aircraft.
a beautiful work of kc.{bravo}}

Couldn't agree more!

And I wonder if anyone else has the same view as I do here, this one works a treat with my wife too. K&C is of course my hobby, but it is more than that. It is a hobby and an investment. I know when I fork out $200+ for a tank etc that there is 99.9% chance that I will be able to sell that tank at the same price I bouhgt it, and a darn good chance thereafter that it will go up in value. So I get to have my hobby, in the long run the costs balance out as a negligible outlay and I get to change my collection up every few years, selling some stuff and buying new.

That's why I can say confidently that I will get the Typhoon before I know the price, it can just go on my 'Bank of K&C Credit Account'.

And here's a tip if anyone hasn't tried it. I have been selling a fair bit recently too on eBay, sometimes things I have bought at bargain prices with the only intention of immediately reselling it. I made a little 'profit' for want of a better word. I bought a nice tank for myself and as cliche as it is, a handbag for my wife. When I explained it was due to my "boring hobby" she changed her tune and just today she asked if I was going to buy any more pieces as she thinks it is a good idea! What a victory! {sm4}

I certainly hope so, as with all "investments" past performance does not always guarantee future results.

True indeed. The pattern seems to suggest it should, stuff from just 2 or 3 years ago is now worth a fortune. But I tread carefully too, I am certainly not buying anything purely for investment in the long term, maybe a piece here or there to sell immediately, but the only things that stay in my house more than a few days are the pieces I want for my personal collection. I don't think I would stretch to buying pieces purely for investment and stowing them away in a closet for a few years!

Chris

of all the aircraft that K&C have done to date the Typhoon is the only one I've contemplated getting. The groundcrew figures have a great "Normandy forward airfield" look. Perhaps they'll do a Bofors later! For me the price will be the critcal nal decider and I suppose the model will be limited availability as well.
