The Thirty Years War was from 1618 to 1648 and was one of the bloodiest, most destructive conflicts in human history. The roots of the war grew out of conflict between Catholics and Protestants but over time the war spread to involve most of the great European powers of the age and became much less about religion and much more about political hegemony. The destruction brought by the war had a far reaching effect and was one of first examples of the concept of total war where civilian loss of life far outpaced battlefield losses through a combination of disease and famine. In some nations, total population had been reduced by as much as 25% over this thirty year period. As such a militarily diverse period of history with so many belligerents involved, the types of figures we can create is limitless. And of course all will be done to our extremely high levels of sculpting and painting.

We have launched the range with a release a bit on the lighter side with our rendition of the “Three Musketeers.” If you remember, these figures were originally sculpted to be high end figure kits and this set won an award at the prestigious World Expo in Stresa Italy summer 2014. Well, rather than release them as a kit, we decided the set was worth producing as the launch piece to our Thirty Years War figure range. As such, we have tried to emulate the quality we achieved on our competition entry so these figures have an even higher level of sculpting and painting then our normal figures and we sincerely hope you enjoy them.

Outstanding {bravo}}

Magnificent vignette !!!

Not to minimize the quality of the vignette, but I had hoped for the two dueling musketeers that were shown in Chicago as the first release.

Some very colourful vignettes, this era lends itself to a huge amount of product, go Matt. Robin.

I don't know if I am alone here. I am the arch realist. I don't care for literary figures or other fictional screen characters, even though I love literature. FL should leave this to the competition and stick with making the most accurate and realistic HISTORICAL figures around. First release could have been Swedes, French, Imperials, tercios or any of a number of real personalities. Although I do like the way the vignette fits together and they are well designed, good looking figures I will wait to collect history not fiction.

I tend to agree but maybe this opens up a new customer base for FL. My wife is not into history per se but enjoyed the Dicken's series from K&C and the annual Santa Claus figures as well.
Its all about what sells....
The Thirty Year's War has potential to cover so many participants and an assortment of uniforms, weapons and accessories.
Personally I am looking forward to more releases from the Renaissance and Alexander the Great ranges.
