The Thirty Years War was from 1618 to 1648 and was one of the bloodiest, most destructive conflicts in human history. Our first major "battle" release for the series is the Spanish Tercio at the Battle of Rocroi. The battle was late in the TYW and featured the French decisively defeating the Spanish and marking the beginning of the end of the myth of invincibility of the Spanish Tercio. The Spanish Tercio it should be noted fought gallantly at this battle withstanding repeated infantry and cavalry attacks despite the dissolution of the army around them and were never driven from the field. Our first release of 8 figures featured most of the pikemen, several musketeers, and a commander. We are pleased to add the next six figures including the Standard Bearers, Drummer, and additional Pike and Musket armed figures allowing for a wonderful display such as the one shown below to be created. We hope you enjoy the new figures and direction of our Thirty Years War figure range and the Spanish Tercio. As those of you who collect this series know, we have elevated the sculpting and painting on these wonderful figures and they are among the finest that we make.

When we dreamed up this release it was loosely inspired by the Rocroi painting from the wonderful artist Ferrer-Dalmau. We thought it would make for a wonderful subject to be brought to life in miniature and we feel that we have achieved this and brought the vision to life!

The "Spanish Tercio" is a very nice release by First Legion, that quickly served a good amount of individual figures to create a beautiful display.
A few chosen poses for a small vignette, or all of them, maybe a few doubles, to have the quantity for a diorama.
To be honest, I am extremely tempted by this line.
