Dear Board,
Today at an Estate sale I found this picture of Ulysses S. Grant. It appears to be well aged and made of silk. I'm attaching some photos of them. I will load three other pics in following threads. If anyone has any ideas who to contact regarding more info, I would appreciate it.

Markey,
It looks like a hand-colored engraving, similar to the Marshall engraving of Lincoln done in 1866. I believe I recently saw something like this, described as dating from 1893, and being on cloth (it might be something "Conspiracy" listed on eBay). If it post-dates his death, the value would be modest relative to an earlier item. Certainly worth more than what you paid! How much, too scarce an item to be certain. Congratulations... it is a lovely discovery!
