greetings. I have a couple of books I believe would be of interest. Both relate to the Pacific war. They are not brand new titles but they are outstanding historical works. 1-"The First Team" by John Lundstrom, pub. 1984 by Naval Institute Press and 2-"Shattered Sword" by Jonathan Parshall and Anthony Tully, pub. by Potomac Books in 2005. Book 1 is about the air war from Pearl Harbor to Midway from the U.S. Navy side. Book 2 is a new study of Midway that really digs into the reasons for the Japanese defeat. Both these books were almost impossible for me to put down. They are both illustrated with some photos and maps. The book on Midway challenges some well entrenched beliefs and is, I believe, a very important study. Enjoy.

On the lighter side of that same topic, I was in Barnes and Noble the other day and They have one of those 12" x12" hardcover coffee table books called Carrier War full of beautiful naval aviation and carrier color paintings and stories. At $12.95 it's a steal if you love the subject.

On one of the WW2 research forums they have referred to "Shattered Sword" several times as an excellent research book. It is on my "wanna read it" list.
