Under Construction -1/35 Opel Blitz flak (1 Viewer)

Hello All,
I've got an old Italeri 1/35th scale Opel Blitz in the works, I've had this kit 20 years or so and just got around to building it. Have the initial paint work done on the engine, transmission, and chassis, 20mm gun on order should be here shortly. I should be finished in a month or so. I'll keep you posted w/ pics as I go if you like. Here's what I have so far.....

Kinda' like this one - only different and cooler....I Hope.

Well Fellas,
I've progressed a bit further with the Blitz Project....may have to change or alter the 20mm ammo cans...after finally finding some pics of the real thing, they just don't pass muster (with me anyway).

Thanks to Everyone for all of their support and kind words. I'll post more pics as soon as I get a little more of the model completed. Thinking of putting it in a Afrika Korps Dio.. - perhaps a 10th or 21st P.D. Anti Aircraft battalion vehicle in a Lybian waddi....I dunno.

The 20mm gun for the Opel Blitz arrived today....will try to get it mounted this weekend.....I'll keep you posted.

Worked on the 'Blitz a little today...the crew of this one decided to use chain and large bolts to facilitate movement and settings of the 'gun platform'. Got my hinges "flipped" and set on the right side, left side pending. Got a lot more to do....more pics when I get the gun on.

Forget the "Chain" idea....the boyz on ACG talked me out of it and rightly so....instead I'll use a cantilever board system at the base of the side board and some outrigger poles. Forgive the pic, lighting is not very good. Here's a little peek of where it's headed:

Here's the latest on the Blitz Build:
Got the dashboard painted, scratches on the dash and metal rings around the guages were done with a #2 pencil. Main assembly of truck is complete. I've still got at least 2 'washes' and 2-3 'drybrushings' left before she's done.

I really enjoy keeping tabs on the progress you're making. Please let us see the finished item. I'm certain we will luv it.
