I repainted and tweaked these figures about 30 years ago from British to Union Army. I think the females are the original paint job. I can't remember the maker.

Interesting figures. Not something you see every day.

One of a kind Scott! This is a great idea, and it really should be done more! Thanks for the pictures!

Hi Scott , I have a similiar set (British ) with shorter mess dress tunics but the ladies dresses and the poses are very similiar .They are by Marlborough .

Do your bases have MMM etched on them ?

Nice repaint . I do not have the bearded figure.

Regards
Kirk

Marlborough! That was it. Thank you. The tunics I lengthened to frock coats and I may have added the beard, but I don't remember. The hand positions were tweaked a bit. I took 19th century ball room dancing for a CW ball we went so I "fixed" the men's hands to match the period style.

Very nice set and what a great idea - one of a kind conversions - to me that is the real spice in collecting/painting Toy Soldiers. As it has been said before it should be done (and shown) much more often.
Thank you very much for sharing

Wolfgang

Hi Scott , here are some pictures of my set which is probably the same one you converted . It is nice to see before and after shots .

I thought the officers were in mess kit but obviously not .

I agree with your comment that more couples and a small band would be a nice addition

Regards
Kirk

Great job on the repaint. The officer with the red beard could be Jeb Stuart. But Jeb Stuart was a rebel. Need to change the uniform color and would would have Jeb Stuart.

Marlborough once released this set of castings painted as Confederates.

I'm sure now that I added the beard with 2 part epoxy back then after seeing Kirk's photos.

The set on the second tier from the top on the right is my school's colour guard!
