...here are some quicky conversions of Armies In Plastic figures as Napoleonic Spanish.

ATS has the Reamsa Spanish made figures. The poses and prices put me off.

Every once in a while they pop up on eBay for a decent price. Apparently HaT has some in the early stages of production.

I'm looking forward to the HaT versions. The white AIP Napoleonic troops do in a "pinch."

Scott The Hat Spanish figures have been canceled in 1/32 scale. Due to poor 1/32 scale sales the Spanish there were planed are only going to be made in 1/72 scale. The release of the 1/72 scale Spanish sets were posted on the Hat forum and I asked about the 1/32 scale Spanish figures and was told that they are not going to be made in 1/32.

I guess the sales of the larger figures have not been doing to good and there are no new sets planed. All I know about for sure in 1/32 are the rest of the sets that all ready have the test figures made in plastic which are the command sets for the Prussians, Russians and Bavarian sets and command set for the 7 years war Prussians.
I,m not even sure the Austrian set will see the light of day??? And that was one I was really hoping to see. They also had masters sculpted for pre and post Baden french troops that were going to be done in 1/32 scale but I have a bad feeling these will only be done in 1/72 like the Spanish sets??? They were on a roll for awhile there but it looks like its coming to an end due to poor sales.:(

Scott, Fish et all

nuts,, is quite appropriate.

A real golden chance lost ... hat had more sets planned,

Even 1/32nd Napoleonic cavalry were mooted which in hat's style would have been great. Why do we lose these opportunities... very sad and maybe no other company will pick up where hat leaves off....we waited years for 1/32nd like these ... I bought 50 boxes recently assorted 1/32nd before they disappear.

Is it possible that HaT made too many "Pretzelstein /Weinerburg" unit sets instead of Waterloo or Pennisula Brits and made the figures in mostly parade and drill poses instead of "action" poses? (I actually like the marching figures myself.)

Yea maybe but its all in hindsight now!....French line Infantry would have been better then all those French lights {you can only have so much of them}
I still have a soft spot for 54mm Napoleonics and would not rule out buying anything that came out....but it has to be good!

hi Scott - good points but the Peninsular/Waterloo figures would have followed. I think that hat were trying to produce figures initially not already made so they kept clear of the 4 Airfix sets types for example.
The Wurttemburger and Bavarians just need headswaps and you have French infantry anyhow.
Still - cant influence their decision making - pity about the Austrians and Spanish sets.

I have built several "units" of the French lights. I had to do some research to figure out how to set them up. ( Open a book? Horrors!)

The French great coat figures are very useful figures for a number of locations during the wars BUT they aren't as colorful as a summer uniform. There's other Napoleonics around. I still have a few Call To Arms but there's no officers etc. Their Brits poses are too clumsy and again, no officers etc. but I did find them in Red plastic.

Airfix's poses are "off" with too short weapons but some folks do like them. I have a large number of the Airfix Brits in Red plastic and they could go well with the HaT French. The best poses are the "square" poses with the leaping charging pose the least useful. The Highlander poses are iffy.

AIP's Napoleonic French aren't bad BUT there are no advancing figures in the French sets. AIP's sculptors are too fond of pistol packing officers.
