Sotnik, I do not know what you are doing professionally, but if you ever opened a school for photography, please count me in. I also think you are not a heavy user of Photoshop - which is not necessarily a bad thing. I love your photos as I am one of these people who love close ups versus large groups of figures.
Sotnik my friend, I'm not sure how you do it but mann these sure look incredible These are IMO some of the best photo's of First Legions Stanlingrad Germans I have seen . Looking at these photo's just reinforces in my mind that the choice I made to collect this line was one of my smarter moments . IMO these are the finest WWII figures yet made at any price and well worth the bargain price being ask ( hope Matt's not reading this). I also love the running poses they really bring the moment of moving out to life . If you backed away from the B/W photo it could easily be taken for a photo from the Bundesarchiv really impressive work . Thanks for posting all the best Gebhard
Thank you guys!!! I appreciate your feedback's its really inspiring and encouraging me to do more...
The day i joined this forum i made first ever photo of my nap. collection "Preobrajenski Polk"
Looking back at those pictures I dont think you would want any photography lessons from me
Thanks to outstanding work and contributions of of fellow members we all can learn.
Sadly i dont have any skills with photoshop so the all pic goes straight from the camera .
Today I got shipment with some Russian Grenadier i guess its time to go back to Borodino
All the best
Those are some of the most amazing photos I have seen on here...your scenes are so well set up...love your work!!!
The choice and employment of various backgrounds is masterful as are the compositions. Outstanding!
One suggestion is to try to keep the blur out of the foreground. This is accomplished by increasing the depth of field (higher f stop) and focusing on a figure near the front of the composition. Depth of field can only go so far though and sometimes you have to reduce the distance between the nearest and farthest figure.
Sotnik,
As you know my friend I was a big fan of your previous work with Borodino . I can only Imagine what you will be able to accomplish this time around with what First Legion have available for Borodino . the 20 figure release alone of the Russian Tauride Line Grenadier Regiment should offer you quite the tools with which to create a splendid work of art I will be on the look out for your next project . I'm not sure if you have seen the fine Borodino work of our friend Artmabigor but its incredible and his blog is well worth a visit as well . All the best Gebhard
