US 7th Army Group (1 Viewer)

I'm starting some research on my grandfather (2nd Lt. Charles Dodd) who was KIA in France on October 31, 1944. I've tracked him down to the 44th Division, 324th Regt of the 7th Army. It appears that he was in France all of about a week or so before he was killed. My mother was born after his death.

Are there any good books specifically looking at the US 7th Army? I've love to get more specifics as to what he would have been in the middle of.

Try "America's Forgotten Army", By Charles Whiting or if you are willing to spend the money, "US Seventh Army. Report of Operations in France & Germany 1944-1945" published by the War Department as an after action report.
Amazon should have both of them.
