Same as any other Cavalry regiment. For further reading I suggest the Osprey volume on Buffalo Soldiers and the one on US Cavalry in the Indian Wars. There was also a Greenhill "GI Series" on the fontier cavalry. All of these are available without too much expense. Point of note, I cant speak for the Buffalo soldiers but many units in the west found that the ex-Civil War or retailored Civil War materials didn't stand up well in the West. It was not uncommon to see troopers on patrol wearing private purchase clothing in the field. Of course they had to wear Army regulation uniforms on post.
The 9th and 10th Cavalry were African Americans recruited to protect settlers in the western US. The Indians gave them the nickname " buffalo soldiers" When i went to the National buffalo soldier museum web site it appears that they wore the same cavalry uniform as other troops of the time =dark blue tunic, light blue trousers and yellow scarf. Osprey probably has a uniform book describing cavalry uniforms of the Indian wars time period.
