Over the past few months, I have posted some photos of vintage Britains bands. And, I have posted photos of only the Bands of the various Guard regiments. Britains also made Bands of US Military units -- including the US Army (set 2110) and the US Marines (set 2112). Thought you might enjoy looking -- (Semper Fi)

Thanks for posting the excellent US band sets. Those would be interesting sets to own. Leadmen

Dick: Maybe I should have bought bands years ago instead of stocks.:) That reminds me of a story :
In the early 60's I had a Polk Hobby Shop Catalog from New York City and wanted to go and buy some figures. My wife made the arrangements and we went there for about five days touring around the city.

When I got to Polk's Hobby and looked at all the reasonable Britain sets which now are so expensive. I could not make a decision on what to buy and bought some war game book and NO toy soldier sets. My wife always reminds me of my New York screw-up. John

Bernard -- a very nice set -- a great addition to your collection -- and it will be even better when you add the outriders!

Dick

Britains only made 5 postwar US Band sets -- the other three are the 1301 US Army Band, the 2117 Band and the 2014 Marine Corp Band. Here are the 1290 and the 2117:

Don't have the 2014 yet. photo will have to wait on that one.

The Band in the top photo is the set 1301 --my mistake. The set 1290 is the British Band in peak caps -- the only difference is color of their shoes and waist bands. Here is the 1290.

Thank you Dick, It's really wonderful to see those old bands, boxes and all. Russell
