Who was the youngest US Medal of Honor recipient in the Korean War?{sm2}

Charles Gilliland, posthumously promoted in rank to corporal and awarded the MOH after the war - he also won the Purple Heart. The Navy named a transport ship after him.

Gents,

Please, please do not take this any other way than just a GI correction. But a MOH recipient (MOH Roy P. Benavidez USA) once told me that he never "won" any thing in the military including his medals...he received them. So, MOH's, Bronze Stars, Purple Hearts and any other decorations are received (or earned) and not won.

I cringe every time I hear the mouthpieces on TV announces another "winner" of the Medal of Honor...like it is some sort of game show.

No disrespect here gents, just a GI correction.

Best my brothers,

John from Texas
