Decided to get some of the new USMC Figures to repaint up as 29th Infantry for my D-Day June 6th Diorama.

I Have ordered the 2x dead marines, wounded marine, leaving no marine behind, BAR gunner running, crouching rifleman and Sergeant with tommy gun kneeling.

My intention is to create a realistic portrayal of one of the LCVPs on DDay, of which there are several accounts and instances of, where the craft and platoon inside was ripped a part by German machine gun fire as soon as the ramp went down!

There are several accounts where only one or two men of 30-40 on a craft survived the initial landing and made it onto the beach.

My intention is to have:

1. 2x wounded marines lying in the craft towards the front of the middle.
2. The no marine left behind figures near the back as if the saviour is trying to pull the wounded man out of the path of the MG fire.
3. The crouching rifleman near the front of the LCVP at the ramp turning round as if taking one last look at the carnage which were his fellow soldiers before plunging into the sea.
4. BAR man either on end of ramp about to plunge into water or running through the water.
5. Sergeant with Thompson kneeling at front of LCVP nesr ramp turning to shout at his men to get off of the craft!

Am not sure whether to have the men in:
A) A mix of HBT shirts (less painting) and M41 Jackets
or
B) All in M41s

What do you guys think?

Sounds good Scott, I've done similar in my Post, Red Beach ! More.
I've also done some uniform conversions using the USMC figures though I was changing them to Camouflage.
