My wife and I last month were in South Carolina for Bike Week and we decided that when we came home, we would ride up to Wilmington, NC to sight see for a few moments. I didn't have the time to tour the ship, but I did take a few photos of her from the pier. I have been onboard the ship before. You can read about her below at the official site.

The next time I get to Wilmington, I will take some pictures of the Fort Fisher Museum.

Enjoy.

These are lovely pictures of a historic ship ... well preserved.

This forum is the main reason that I am rediscovering photography. Digital photography is so different from the days of film.

Hope to be able to post pics in future.

Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing the photos. It looks like you had a perfect day for pictures. I love dreadnaught battleships! It's very nice to see BB55 well cared for and painted up in WW2 combat configuration.

Those are really neat. I don't know much about ships and the Navy. The Taney- USCG I believe is docked their at Inner Harbor in Baltimore. I really think it's neat how the Ship wears the ribbons as well.
