Just looking at my grey army, there are a lot of figures which are not going to be completed and will just stay in the shadows. These commercial figures are limited by earlier casting process, either lacking in anatomy, pose or details. But many of them have useful bits and pieces that could form the basis of other figure conversions.
But I like rescuing figures, trying to salvage something from each piece if possible. So I took out some of them to start the creative process. Cutting and snipping here and there. I think you have to start off with a batch to do mix and match.
The first pic shows original commercial figures. The next two show the preliminary process.
