In the countryside surrounding the trading post of Oswego,New York, a young maid out collecting flowers pauses to talk with a private of the Provincial Regiment of New Jersey. Five hundred men of the "Jersey Blues" had been sent to New York in the early stages of the French & Indian War to protect this frontier outpost from attacks by Indian raiding parties coming down from Canada.
