On a similar note, listening to veterans' stories from the veterans themselves, people might want to visit AudioMurphy.com, https://audiomurphy.com/, WWII Oral Histories. I met the gentleman who runs the site, Aaron Elson, at the World War II Weekend at Reading. He's been collecting veterans' stories and recording them for over 20 years. It's worth visiting his site, too.
