Please check out VICTRX LTD as they have released a new range of 28mm MULTIPOSE HARD PLASTIC Waterloo/Peninsular War soldiers.
I have never seen a 28mm figure before and I am very impressed with these sets. They are bigger than 1/72nd which can be a strain on ones eyes when painting, but they dont take up as much room as 54mm sioldiers so therefore, you can set up large battles without running out of space too soon!

The infantry box has parts to make up 52 soldiers including officers, sergeants, colour ensigns and a host of action postures. The accurate detail is quite outstanding. No problems with exessive flash and no worries about chipping/flaking paint! Each box also comes with colours/flags and wargames rules. My first box is centre companies at Waterloo and they also have flank companies plus centre and flank companies from the Peninsular War in Spain/Portugal 1808-1814.

Next on the horizon is a release of French Infantry plus British and French Cavalry and Artillery. Future plans include Prussians and Austrians etc...

Have a look at their website for details:

All these kits are made in Great Britain so it will help support the economy if you try a box

Hurrahhhh!!!!

They are truly beautiful figures but they have still got to be a nightmare to try to paint. All that detail in a still very small package. I like the looks of them very much and would like to try painting them just to see.

Hi

do you think they would be ok if made in the larger 54mm scale?

I may have come off sounding more negative than intended here. I've only painted one 1/32 scale Nappie and they are tough in my opinion due to all the fancyness of the uniforms of the period. It is tough to get a paint brush into some of those nooks and crannies on 1/32. I can only imagine what it would be like on 1/28. I really like the looks of these figures from Victrix and would like to give them a try sometime.
