I was on ebay looking for some 28mm deals for Napoleonics and ran across a seller offering 54mm Victrix French Elite companies. Hard plastic multiple piece /pose infantry kits.
Haven't seen anything like these since the old Airfix multipose sets.
Great, Have to get those and some more 28mm .

They do look good and two different sets!.....They should mix well with Metals, WBritains ect.

Are the 54s just upsized versions of the 28s, with the same proportional distortion? On the Victrix website they appear to be only six heads high, in contrast to the more realistic fellows on the box art.

The Brits are off in proportion. Nice as 28mm but "Hobbitty" as 54mm. Still if you mix the Brits and French, they creat their own "universe." The price isn't bad for 16 figures but it is prohibitive for building units.

I never went for the British either. Have plenty of metal that look better , plus I don't collect for the Peninsula .All flank company too, don't need them.
I have 6 painted battalions of Victrix in 28mm . 2 French Line and 4 Guard. Plus 2 KGL battalions I mixed /converted swapped parts with Perry. The 28mm Victrix are fine, not as good as some metals, but a lot of fun making variety of poses with all the assorted parts and painted up are splendid. 6 Line battalions and 2 Grenadier Battalions of Austrians, all assembled, now have to paint. A little less thrilled, but they should look good in their 48 figure units.
The 54mm are available at 19 GBP shipped from Caliver books. Not cheap, not terribly expensive.About $1.90 each. Should be fun . Hopefully some Fusiliers will be available.

I just got mine in the mail today, I also found them on ebay. The figures are on the large side just like the British release and like Scott said, they have that hobbit look to them like 28mm figures blown up to what they call 54mm but they are much larger. The 2 sets come with the same base bodies but the officer body is different in the sets and the heads and arms are different.

The british set will now have some there own size to pick on! Other then the large size and the hobbit look they are nice figures with lots of conversion possibilities.
I hope some one state side starts selling these so I can pick up a few more cheaper. They should paint up well and with the larger size might mix well with some of the larger metal figures?

Fish i think HobbyBunker sells victrix, Looking forward to seing some assembled/painted when you get the chance!:)

The proportions are terrible - far too squat with big heads and they don't match in with AIRFIX, (Solid and kit) HAT or TIMPO. They have that 'metal wargame made in plastic look'. They do fit in with the 65mm plastic Alamo Mexicans by Conte and the metal figures by Del Prado and K&C if that sort of figure floats your boat.
