I started getting some paint on my new Victrix French. I,m painting up the first batch as Voltigiers. There are 2 new French sets but the grenadier set can also be painted up as Voltigers. I just wish they had included extra heads so you would have enough heads to make all the figures with the same type head style if you wish.
These are the first few I have done. I have the rest of the troopers on the table getting close to completion. I,ll post some more pictures here when I get them done.

These are real nice figures, I hope they do more in 1/32 scale. The price is a bit high at $35 bucks a box but I like them. The scale is on the large size for 1/32? They are closer to 1/30 or 1/31.
here are a couple of pics!
Last pic has them along side Hat 1/32 scale figures and a K&C 1/30 figure.

Thanks Joe! Yes I have been busy pecking away at painting a bunch of figures and a few more conversion projects also. Still have a lot on the table unfinished.

Fish,
I was thinking about getting these figures and just "color-coding" them in blue. Are they "robust" enough not to need special handling and storage?

From your photos, they look like they might blend with HaT figures. I'm I correct?

Tim...your French Voltiigiers look great...your painting skills are pretty good!

Scott they are made of plastic resin like model kits are made of but the parts are all pretty thick and sturdy and I dropped many of the figures off my table many times in the time I had them on the painting table and none of them broke on me to my surprise. So they are a lot more sturdy then I thought they would be and can handle a bit of tossing around.
I base all my figures on metal washers and store them in small plastic tubs and this really helps cut down on breakage and paint loss on my plastic figures because the metal washers do really well in keeping the figures from falling over. I just keep them all in the standing position inside the plastic tubs and this system has worked really well for me.

As far as size goes, these figures are a bit bigger then hat figures and it would be kinda like mixing Conte figures with true 54mm. That being said some Hat sets are larger then others, Sets like the french in greatcoats are bigger then say the Russian sets or Prussian landwher which are tiny little things and closer to 1/35???

These French sets are really great sets though with lots of options as far as conversions or even just building them as is, so I would suggest picking up at least one set to check them out! If you do get more then one set you can mix and match parts from both sets because the uniform is the same in both sets and its just a paint conversion. They should have included extra heads to build the figures all as the same unit though is the sets one down fall.

Are you going to the show Sunday Scott??? You should be able to pick up a set there at a good price. See you there if so!

Yep! Saving my $$$$ for the show. A "good price" for me has to be pretty low. If you see me please say hello. I get single minded at these events and I don't recognize people.

Fish old buddy those are pretty nice. I saw them on a you tube demo and thought they said 1/32. So glad they are. Nice painting. I will post some stuff I have been working on soon.{bravo}}

Thanks Tom! I,m not that great a painter at all The trick is to get yourself a good lighted magnifying glass and just keep going over your mistakes till you get it right. Seeing your figures blown up will show all your painting mistakes, when you find them just keep going back and touching them up till you have the figure the best you can get it. Also try and add a bit of shading and highlighting by adding a slightly darker shad in the cracks and a slightly lighter color on the high spots.
Over time your skills will improve little by little each time. Another tip is to study the painting styles of other painted figures you like and try and copy the style in which its painted to the best of your ability.
Take some pics of the figures that you paint and blow them up and you,ll really see were you need to improve.

Hope this helps!
