All,

Just started watching this series from PBS or rather WGBH in Boston. I bought it off of ebay and I remember watching it in the 80's with my dad week after week during the summer. The intro music is haunting and the interviews are rich with detail. I know this is the edited version as I remember the original being much more graphic. However, this version still retains a lot of images and stories that are riveting.

After I get through this one, I am going to purchase Vietnam: The 10,000 Day War and compare the two. Regardless, the history angle on these documentaries is good and I even got the wife to watch an episode with me.

John, I watched both and I preferred A Television History. By the way, you can watch the 10,000 day war on YouTube.

By the way, Stanley Karnow’s book that accompanied the tv series is very good. By the way, in my Vietnam 67 thread, I posted a bibliography of Vietnam books. You might be interested in Tim O’Brien’s novel, The Things They Carried. It’s one of the best books I e read on the War.

One too many “by the ways” in my reply. As I get older, my written expression seems to be getting worse :redface2:
