Greg you have the perfect terrain and structures for a raiding party to let loose. Plenty of action and colour in this lot, a please to behold. Robin.

Currently on vacation and binge watching Vikings on Netflix. Seating watching it I keep thinking of hundreds of figures and boats in dioramas I would love to create but with a all ready impossible wish list to acquire and a budget beyond my desires I have to be content to admire Sappers.

Gee, everyone's on holidays. Thanks Wayne and Robin for the comments. The Vikings amount to many years of collecting but I still enjoy looking at them and I eagerly await JJD new Saxon releases. Regards Greg.

JUST INCREDIBLE!!! SO many awesome scenes!!!! Just love the longships and the longhouse- a LOT of effort went into setting this up!! Thank you for all of your efforts.

Great Scene and Diorama. I see lots of different manufacturers working together, very nice. Must have taken you lots of Time and Money :)

Just one little thing, I would have painted the Fur to get a more realistic Look;)

ah btw: What are the Viking Long Ships from?

Best Wishes
Stefan

Thanks gents for the comments. The large diorama and returning from a raid are permanent dioramas that i did quite a while ago. I'm happy with the weathered thatch roofs and a colour they would achieve after a few years. There are a lot of Viking ships for sale on Ebay under models and kits, wooden VIKING ships. The raid scene was a kit but the larger ships come as advertised and 24inches long. Modifications to shield size and seating were required. I notice on Ebay there are some Roman ship kits 24inches long that would make good features in scenes if one could not afford the JJD expected releases. I myself would shy away from another kit project as i find them too frustrating and delicate to build. Just completed a house and I had to strengthen the whole thing with balsa wood. It is in a WW2 setting and turned out good. Not finished that project but I might show that in a competition. So the Viking era is one of my favourite series and i'm looking forward to the JJD Saxon releases. Regards Greg.

Thanks for reposting these and reminding us just how good they are.I haven't collected any Middle Ages figures, but I must admit I find the JJD Saxons very appealing.I have recently read The Last Kingdom books and have been sorely tempted to recreate some of these scenes-shield walls, fortified Saxon towns etc.I think JJD might be moving towards 1066 and all that though.Well done Greg.

I like your suggestions of shield walls and fortified Saxon towns Tony. I have a spare diorama of a bridge that would be perfect for Stamford Bridge but i'm hanging off doing any more to the scene until I get a clear picture where the series is going. I think by doing the battle of Hastings, it would be a longer lasting venture for JJD. Anyway there is exciting times ahead especially with the Romans, one series you are a master of. Liked the fort you produced recently and would love to see that completely stocked with figures. I'm hoping to see some figure arrivals soon so I can complete some dioramas. Regards Greg.
