I am going to do everything in my power to get there on Saturday- they do an amazing event each year at the Heritage Center- it is really a treasure. Missed you guys (AGAIN :() in Gburg- don't want to do it again within a months time.

The redoubt is a really cool area. They also have a Civil War encampment. They have done a tremendous job setting up a Viet Nam firebase. There is a Cobra gunship under cover along with an M18 (??) WW2 era Hellcat.

The trench system is super cool too.

For the WW2 fan, they have a Sherman and a Pak43- one of a few in the world. It's a monster with the 88

Regarding the WW2 camp, there is a chin up bar there and of course the wife and kids like to see me kick em out (though not nearly as good as I once was :D) The one day my son told me to do some with my infant son strapped to the carrysack on my back- did a couple but darn if I didn't almost blow out my shoulder!! :D

The only thing that might kill it- Our oldest son turns 13 on Saturday and it looks like paintballing is on the menu. Entering a new phase in my life- that of a proud parent of a teen. Next will be college.........:eek:

Cheers

My husband and I stumbled upon this site on our way to MFCA show and I definitely recommend a visit! We first visited in 2007 and stopped there again this year. They have added a lot to their outdoors display since our last visit so if anyone lives reasonably close, check it out. :)
