Save the Date!! Come One! Come All to the W.Britain Symposium to be held at the World War II American Experience Museum in Historic Gettysburg, PA August 2-4, 2024!

Speakers include:

Henry Sledge will discuss the life and WWII experiences of his father, Eugene Sledge, WWII U.S.M.C. veteran and author of With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa. He will also discuss the experience of filming the HBO mini-series The Pacific which was partially based on his fathers book. W.Britain will also be debuting a Eugene Sledge figure (photos coming soon).

Dr. Tyler Putman, Senior Manager of Gallery Interpretation at the Museum of the American Revolution at Philadelphia will explore the material culture and daily life of the Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Mark T. Hacala, Master Chief Hospital Corpsman (ret), former Director of History and Education for the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation, ceremonies specialist and drillmaster for the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard in Washington, DC (ret) and current editor of the Bluejackets Manual and host of the Master Chief’s Sea Chest podcast will cover the look of the U.S. Navy during the last half of the 19th century.

Joseph Ricci, Historian at The Battle of Franklin Trust, is back by popular demand to continue to bring to vivid life the experiences in the western theatre of the American Civil War.

Kenneth Osen, President and Creative Director of W.Britain Model Figures will compare and contrast the varied uniforms worn by American troops in both the Pacific and European theatres of war during WWII.

Oh, and we will also have our traditional diorama workshop on Friday (more to come on that)
and the opportunity to ride a fully restored WWII Halftrack across the fields of Gettysburg (not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning…)
