Latest reports seem to indicate an accident, a fire igniting a chemical tank. Our American friends are having a very rough time at the moment, let us hope the casualties are minimal. Our thoughts are with them at this time. Trooper

Estimated fifteen fatalities now, awful news of devastation coming through. Tornado like destruction of houses being described, deeoest sympathies to all those suffering.

I live in Waco and this has been really hard on this small town. Wife knows several of the affected families through work including two of the missing volunteer firefighters. It's been a rough time around here. Search & Rescue were still still trying to sort through the blast area earlier today as there were still people unaccounted for. Hopefully they got out and just haven't been able to contact relatives to let them know eveything is okay. Don't think it was anything other than a tragic industrial accident. Anyone interested in helping can do so through the Red Cross. Thoughts & prayers always appreciated.

Thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected. The Salvation Army also has a link to make donations.

This incident was a full blown disaster that the town is still sorting through. For a small town to suffer these kind of losses is devastating to the extreme and the fatalities were largely concentrated in the volunteer fire department, people who gave their lives in the hope of limiting damage and other loss to their neighbors and hometown. Hard to find a greater spirit of community and level of humanity than what these volunteers have exhibited. Those firefighters walked the walk so I can only pray that God looks after them, their families and their home town. I salute them for their ultimate sacrifice. -- Al

This town,,,WEST, Texas is 8 hours drive east of me,but I have been in the area several times. The Blast had a devastating effect for many miles away from the site of the actual explosion.
