Have been going through "my stuff" and decided to get rid of most of my casting materials. Since the cost of casting material has increased so much, I thought I'd offer it free to any of you SoCal casters who's willing to pick it up in San Diego. Let me know if you're interested . . . I have one oatmeal box of pewter/lead, another of white metal; probably weighing around five or ten pounds each. Will also be going through my molds soon . . . some purchased, some original. Not sure if I'll sell or donate them . . . so, again, let me know.

I'm out of San Diego and I was considering getting into sculpting and casting!

What kinds of molds do you have, Al, that is, subjects, scales etc?

Prost!

Sorry to take so long to reply, but I wanted to check to see what was left after cleaning out a lot of old toy soldier stuff. With the exception of some metal molds I had as a kid, everything is 54mm: Prince August Guards and Highlanders, Dutkins Christmas figures (15 or 20) plus one original, legs and tails for WB horses, some marching conversions (Russian, Belgian, Bersaglieri running, etc) . . . all left foot forward. I'm sure there's more, but my memory fails me. Also have lead, white metal, and pewter. Finally got rid of my casting machine and now use CerroBend which I can melt over a electric hot plate. Still doing a few conversions, but at 87 I find that everything takes twice as long. As one of my former chief of staff used to say; patience is a consumable product!
