I want to build a wall and have it look like a plaster wall. I want to use plaster to do the wall. I am all set with My base. My question is want is a good plaster to use? I deal a lot with Lowes. Thank You 'Mr Colt 45'

Mr. Colt...

I'm no expert...but I have dabbled with a lot of Home Depot's plaster and stucco products...

the plaster does not work well for me...

it's finish flakes off and I recommend either of these 2 products...

look at the label...

one is textured...one is smooth...

depending on what you prefer...

they dry quick and are extremely hard shell...no flaking off...

they are both sandable to remove excess or blemishes...

applied with a trowel or spatula...like frosting a cake...then a quick sanding if necesaary...

I prefer to apply them to foam board...but they adhere to anything...

I would love to see pics of your project if you can post some...

good luck...

A quick suggestion you can try in a few minutes......mix flour and salt 3 parts flour to 2 parts .salt..with water...hot or cold.....mix into a smooth paste....wet surface and apply......dry in sun......will set rock like......have not tried it as a plaster but have built large model with it....cheers TomBFlour and Salt.jpg

Hello TomB,

I've noticed that a lot of your plaster, and groundwork proposals contain edible material. Firstly, how do you deal with pests and, secondly, are you on the correct website with these food recipes....:)?
